  I am sooo screwed

  so last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.

  she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.

  what do i do?!!!!!.

  i hate to read the wt, but i skimmed the july 15 study edition.

  i found many examples of propaganda, of course, but a couple things really stood out.

  I'm pretty sure most Kingdom Halls in the U.S. have already been arm-twisted into getting high speed internet and making the whole KH a wi-fi hotspot.

  Can't cite a letter to BOE, but I'm pretty sure I saw it somewhere on here a year or two ago.

  favourite words...in any language

  i mean " courting" certainley sounds more dignified than " hanging out with a new squeeze".

  " comely" is a word i think should be used more often".

  i am going to try and use " jabberwockey" in a sentece today.. anyway do you have any favourite words, in any language?.

  A French-speaking friend gave an example of how picturesque French is in comparison to English or German.

  English: Potato

  German: Kartoffel

  French: Pomme de terre (Literally "apple of the earth".)

  "Pomme de terre" is my vote for this thread.

  I was 36 when I started posting here. This weekend I celebrated my 50th birthday!

  and i mean celebrated!

  it was a cracking barbecue party for around 40 good friends and neighbours as well as my 'never jw' cousins and one of my brothers and his family.. .

  drank a bit too much, embarrassed my kids with some 'dad dancing' and laughed until 2 in the morning.

  How long have you known TTATT and continued to participate?

  i continue to be stunned by posters reporting on the convention, lamenting the convention, complaining about going in serve-us and meetings, and yet continuing to participate in these activities.. a simple question.

  how long have you done these things, fully knowing it is absolute bullshit?.

  i couldn't handle it for more than six months before i basically outed myself.

  Learned TTATT approx 7 years ago. Kept my elder hat (but slid out of almost all elder duties, including JCs) for approx 2.5 years. Used that time to educate myself on JWN and JWFacts and do strategic seed planting with my JW wife and unbaptized teenagers.

  For us, it was 2.5 years VERY well spent. YMMV.
